A Shreveport man charged in connection with a shooting last week that left another man wounded have been dropped.

Shreveport police say 38-year-old Jermelra Freeman was arrested April 26 after preliminary information led police to name Freeman as a suspect in a shooting in the 400 block of East 72nd Street that left 46-year-old Eric Wesley wounded.

Detectives have gathered additional information that clears Freeman in the shooting. He was released from police custody late last week after the Caddo Parish District Attorney's Office dismissed charges against him.

Police continue to look for the person responsible for the shooting. If you have information that can help, call Shreveport-Caddo Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.
