A local man is behind bars for a domestic dispute that happened late last month in west Shreveport.

On November 27, 2014, police were called to Willis Knighton Medical Center on Greenwood Road to a report of assault and battery. When the arrived, they talked with an adult female, who said her boyfriend, 43-year-old Victor Carmack, punched her several times, then attempted to strangle her. While he was choking her, he made her beg for her life, which she did, and he released her.

Shreveport Police Domestic Violence Investigators were notified, and began gathering information. Based on their evidence, they were able to get an arrest warrant for Carmack, charging him with second degree battery. No bond has been set.

Carmack was arrested at his home and transported to the Shreveport City Jail.
