Shreveport Police Chief Willie Shaw has placed one of his jailers on administrative leave.
Anika Williams was hired by the department in March of 2006. But an arrest by Bossier City police has led to Williams' being placed on admin leave. A news release from the police department quotes the rules and regulations of the Shreveport Fire and Police Municipal Civil Service Board which say that, "When an employee is charged with a felony he shall -- and if a misdemeanor he may -- be immediately relieved of duty and placed on departmental leave for up to one week at full pay and with continuing seniority.
