Shreveport Gets New Deputy Fire Chief

38-year fire department veteran Roland Orlando Jones has been promoted from Battalion Chief to Deputy Chief.  

He succeeds Deputy Chief Tom Self, who just retired today after 36 years with the fire department.  Since Chief Craig Mulford is on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation, that makes Jones the highest-ranking Shreveport Fire Department officer on active duty.

Chief Jones joined the department in June of 1976 and has worked his way up through the ranks since then.
