Shreveport firefighters have had a busy Sunday afternoon.

First, they were called to a reported house fire in the 2900 block of Drexel Street at 3:26 pm.  When they got there four minutes later, they found heavy smoke and flames coming from all sides of a vacant one-story, wood-frame house.  They had that fire under control in less than 10 minutes.

Then, just one minute after the first alarm, they were called to another house fire in the 500 block of East Dalzell Street.  They got there within 5 minutes and found heavy smoke and flames visible at the rear of the house.  They went inside to search for occupants and learned that everybody had gotten out safely.  They had that fire under control in about 20 minutes.

Nobody was hurt in either fire and both are under investigation to determine their exact cause.
