Shreveport Diabetes Sports' annual golf scramble, it's largest single fundraiser of the year, is coming up Monday, May 18, at Shreveport's East Ridge Country Club. Shreveport Diabetes Sports is a non-profit corporation that organizes sports events to raise money to fight Type 1 diabetes in children. All profits go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Shreveport Diabetes Sports has raised over $270,000 since their founding three years ago and this year's golf tournament and banquet  are the high point of their annual efforts.

Joe Sterkx, SDS co-chairman, said openings remain for Monday's scramble. Sterkx also said this year's prizes include custom golf clubs, a south Louisiana fishing trip, a large screen TV, a couple package to El Dorado Caino and more. In addition, golfers will have four chances to win a car on ERCC's par three holes!

Monday's tournament will be followed by the annual banquet and prime rib dinner featuring a silent auction and even more prizes. 710 KEEL's Robert J. Wright will once again be the emcee.
