The heavy rains we got last week left damage to some Shreveport streets. Public Works crews will be doing pothole repair work over the next couple of months.

“One of our highest priorities is to correct this situation,” said Mayor Ollie Tyler. “Street repair crews are working until 7 p.m., Monday through Friday and also on Saturdays repairing potholes until we get caught up.”

Citizens are encouraged to contact the Public Works Department - Streets & Drainage Division at 673-6330 to report a pothole.

The Mayor's office released this statement about other street projects:

$5.2 million in street repairs began this week on the second half of the Minor Arterial Street Asphalt Overlay Program. Funding for this program comes from the Streets Special Revenue Fund. This work includes base repair and asphalt overlay of the following streets:

Linwood Avenue, Bert Kouns to City Limits
Buncombe Road, 70th Street to Pines Road
Mansfield Road, Hearne Avenue to Greenwood Road
Jefferson Paige Road, I-220 to Pines Road
Stoner Avenue, Creswell to Louisiana
Milam Street, Douglass to Exposition
Woolworth Road, Bert Kouns to City Limits
Williamson Way, Kingston to Mansfield
Ellerbe Road, Overton Brooks to City Limits

The work is scheduled for completion in 90 days.
