Two vehicles collided in Shreveport this morning, sending people to the hospital with injuries and knocking out power in one neighborhood. The crash happened on East 70th Street at Henderson this morning at around 7:30.

After the collision, one of the vehicles slammed into a utility pole, putting area businesses in the dark for a while as SWEPCO crews worked to restore power.

Police had to direct traffic for a while at the intersection of East 70th and Henderson as traffic was blocked at that intersection in one lane going towards Shreveport.  Traffic was also slow moving down one more block at Fairfield as police had the right lane of 70th closed there, allowing traffic down one lane going away from Shreveport.

The utility pole was snapped at the bottom and came to rest over the power line.
