A Shreveport businessman is recovering while authorities search for the suspect who reportedly shot him following an attempted business burglary Tuesday morning.

Just after 2am, Shreveport police were called to the Team Upholstery business in the 4600 block of St.Vincent Avenue relative to a shooting.  Officers found 54-year-old Timmy Clark suffering a single gunshot wound to the chest.  Clark, who was transported to Oshner Health via ambulance and was listed in serious but stable condition.

Based on preliminary findings, authorities learned Clark was involved in a confrontation with a suspect who was allegedly attempting to steal items from his property when an exchange of gunfire erupted between between him and the unidentified prowler.  Following the shooting the gunman, whose description was not readily available, fled the scene avoiding capture.  Shreveport Police investigators are asking anyone with any information about the shooting to contact Crimestoppers at 318-673-7373 or visit their tip line at: P3tips.com.  A reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for the crime.
