Hitting the road to visit friends and family for Independence Day?  It's gonna cost a little more this year than last.

Gasoline prices are still about 20 cents higher across the Ark-La-Tex than they were at this time last year.  Most of this is from the refinery issues in the Midwest that affected our area's supply a few weeks ago.

In Shreveport-Bossier, drivers are spending about $3.26 per gallon.  That is a six cent decline from last week, but still 23 cents more than last year.

In Texarkana, Arkansas-side drivers are paying about $3.28 per gallon on average.  That is down six cents from last week, but 18 cents higher than last year.  Meanwhile, Texas-side drivers see a similar trend as well.  Their average price for a gallon of regular fuel is $3.30, four cents less than last week but 18 cents more than last year.
