Monday, April 22 is Earth Day, and schools across Shreveport and Bossier will be doing their part to keep the planet healthy and educate the public on how they can help.

Meadowview Elementary will celebrate Earth Day at 9 a.m. along with Keep Bossier Beautiful, a local affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, to plant trees and lead students in a lesson about recycling and ways to save our environment.

If you can't make it to this Earth Day event, two more will be held during the day: one at noon at Plantation Park Elementary, and another at 1 p.m. at Apollo Elementary.

EarthDay.org also offers an online Ecological Footprint Quiz to answer the question 'How many planets does it take to support your lifestyle,' as well as myriad information on how to do your part to keep the planet clean and healthy.
