A man wanted for attempted murder in connection with a shooting incident in Shreveport earlier this week has been captured in Bossier City.

30-year-old Detrick Levern, of Shreveport, was apprehended in Bossier City by the Bossier City Police Department’s Special Operations Services Unit along with members of the U.S. Marshals Violent Offender Task Force. He was arrested on a warrant for attempted second degree murder.

It all started with a shooting that occurred in Shreveport on July 18 on West Laurel Street.

Officers had received information Thursday that Haywood was at a residence in the 1400 of Teekell Street and converged on the house, setting up a perimeter in the process.

Officers were able to talk Haywood into exiting the house upon making contact with him. Haywood quickly surrendered without incident and was subsequently booked into the Bossier City Jail as a fugitive from Shreveport.
