A local man wanted by Shreveport police in connection with a shooting that left a three-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg has been arrested. The shooting happened just before 5 Saturday morning in the 3500 block of Palm Road. Detectives say two men were involved in some type of altercation there, and one of them -- identified as 26-year-old Michael Riley -- pulled a rifle and opened fire. Several homes and at least one vehicle in that block were struck by gunfire, along with the boy -- who was in bed asleep at the time. Investigators recovered over 40 shell casings from the scene. Riley was arrested on an unrelated theft charge just before noon Saturday. He was charged this afternoon with three counts of attempted first-degree murder and two counts of aggravated criminal property damage.
