Appearing this morning with on 710 KEEL's morning show, Republican candidate for the US Senate Congressman Bill Cassidy said that President Obama's EPA mandates earlier this week are "a job killer for Louisiana and the USA."

Cassidy said that as many as 36,000 jobs could be lost in our area alone. He also cited a Chamber of Commerce estimate that the new clean air rules could cost up to 250,000 more.

Cassidy added that he was glad to receive the endorsement of the Republican Party of Louisiana, saying he embraces the support of "grassroots, hard-working Louisianans" in his bid to unseat incumbent Democrat Senator Mary Landrieu.

Analysts consider the race a toss up, with Cassidy currently with a slight lead in combined polling.
