Louisiana State Senator John Milkovich talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty, insisting that he didn't sign a letter sent to Governor John Bel Edwards suggesting a compromise consisting of a tax increase of 50% of Louisianans making between $30,000 and $60,000 a year - despite his (and thirteen other Senators) being named in the correspondence.

"Let me make one thing clear," says Milkovich. "I did not sign it!" When asked if his name was used without permission, the Senator responded, "I was asked about a week ago to look at a letter, to sign it, and I never had a chance to look at it and I did not sign it."

Milkovich then asked that a copy of the letter be faxed to his office and, when asked if he agrees with the tax proposal in the letter says, "I absolutely do not! That's one of the primary reasons we're here (the special legislative session). I'm a little bit mad about this!"
