United States Senator John Kennedy tell's 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty why he voted against the just passed $1.3 trillion "Omnibus" spending bill.

Kennedy, who had previously described the measure as "A Great Dane whizzing down the leg of every taxpayer in America," said the bill will add "at least a trillion dollars to the debt," and that Senate leaders (both Republican and Democrat) "wouldn't let us debate the bill or offer amendments" prior to the vote. The Senator gave a thumbs up to the part of the bill that increased military pay, but adds that it continues the government tradition of misallocated and wasteful spending, "which is why the President didn't get his wall, but (Dem Senate leader) Chuck Schumer got his tunnel."
