UPDATE: The security officer has been identified as 56-year-old Michael Wayne Henry of Shreveport. Police have also released some information about the suspect.

He is described as a black man, wearing all black except for pink gloves. He sped away in a gray Lincoln Town car that had a black roof.

ORIGINAL STORY:

A security guard is killed during an armed robbery of a Cedar Grove liquor store.

It happened at the Thrifty Liquor in the 8400 block of Linwood at about 10pm. Police say a man wearing all black was in the middle of holding up the store when the private security guard was shot. He was rushed to University Health where he was pronounced dead.

Several employees and customers were in the store at the time of the shooting, but no one else was hurt. Police are in the process of interviewing all of the witnesses. Detectives will also review the surveillance footage to try to gather clues in the hunt for the suspect.
