Political analyst Scott Hughes talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the final tally in the Shreveport mayoral race and the outlook for the new Adrian Perkins administration.

Hughes reiterates a point he made during the campaign, that this election between Perkins and incumbent Ollie Tyler was one based more on generational lines, other than - like many recent Shreveport races - political parties or race.

"I think, in the end," Hughes tells KEEL listeners, "This was not about Tyler or Perkins. This was about a new Shreveport. (Perkin) said in his speech that this is about moving forward. Shreveporters - a lot of them millennials - said we want to do something different. This campaign became what represented that possible new day for Shreveport."
