The issue over guns in our schools has taken on a very strange twist in one Maryland school.

A second-grader at Park Elementary School in Baltimore was suspended for two days after his teacher claimed he saw the seven-year-old bite his breakfast pastry, i.e., Pop Tart into the shape of what appeared to be a gun.

Josh Welch said he had no intentions. "All I was trying to do was turn it into a mountain but it didn't look like a mountain really and it turned out to be a gun kinda."

School officials called Josh’s father, B.J. to let him know his son was getting suspended. B.J. was floored the incident had blown up, noting, "I would almost call it insanity. I mean with all the potential issues that could be dealt with at school -- real threats, bullies, whatever the issue is. It's a pastry."
