A retiring East Texas college professor gets a scholarship fund in her name. Panola College has established the "Dr. Lillian Cook Endowed Scholarship" to honor Dr. Cook for her many years of dedicated service. Dr. Cook is retiring after 42 years of working with Texas students. She taught English and Spanish in Garrison and Plano -- then taught both at Panola for several years before entering the administration. She has served as Chief Academic Officer -- first as Dean of Instruction, then as Vice President of Instruction for 12 years. The scholarship will be awarded annually. Applicants can contact Panola's Office of Institutional Advancement for more info.
