Despite this game being meaningless in the NFL regular season standings, this game means something to the Saints front office, locker room, and the rest of Who Dat Nation.

Sunday night’s game serves as way to simply move on.

After a constantly dramatic offseason for the whole Saints organization inside the locker room and out, everyone involved with the Saints is looking for a way to simply move on and focus on what’s most important.

What’s most important to the New Orleans Saints? A trip to their own place of residence for Super Bowl XLVII.

It will not be an easy task, with the suspensions of their leader Sean Payton, Jonathan Vilma, and many others. But, as we have learned in sports throughout our whole lives, nothing is impossible.

Sunday night’s game shows that there are valid reasons to be excited for this season. The regulars, including the newly signed Drew Brees didn’t play much.

Sophomore Saint Mark Ingram came out of the gate scoring! Jogging to the end zone at the 10:52 mark in the 1st quarter. Following the extra point by Garrett Hartley, the Saints were on top 7-0.

Saints kicker John Kasay adding onto the Saints score, completing a 22 yard field goal, now making the score 10-7 in the 2nd quarter.

The Saints put the Cardinals to bed early, after a pass from quarterback Chase Daniel to Tavaris Cadet for 4 yards was ran into the end zone, making the score 17-7 before halftime.

Veteran kicker Jay Feely tried his best to keep the Cardinals in the game, making a 27 yard field goal in the 3rd quarter but, it just wasn’t enough. The Saints win the game 17-10!

The game officially kicks off the Saints’ preseason, they head up to Foxboro, MA to face off against Tom Brady and the AFC Champion New England Patriots on Thursday!
