The New Orleans Saints have released veteran running back Pierre Thomas. Thomas, an eight year veteran, originally joined the team as an undrafted free agent.

Thomas turned 30 during the latter part of the 2014 season.

In 11 games last season Thomas ran for 222 yards and two touchdowns. He caught passes for 378 yards and one score.

Thomas' best season was the Saints' Super Bowl year of 2009. In that campaign he gained 793 yards with 6 touchdowns and added two more through the air.
