The Caddo Parish Seriff's Office is offering a one-day safety course for college-bound students between the ages of 17 and 21.  It will be held next Tuesday, August 9th, from 1-5 pm at Sheriff's Safety Town on Jewella.  Instructors from the Sheriff's Office will be on hand to offer crime-prevention tips and techniques.  An emphasis will be placed on protecting both your identity and your possessions as well as dating violence, reporting criminal behavior and activities, travel safety, personal safety, drug awareness, and basic self defense.  The program is free and open to both men and women but seating is limited and you'll need to pre-register.  You can do that by calling the sheriff's Community Programs Section at 681-0870 or 681-0875.
