Road Resurfacing Project Kicks Off in Shreveport This Week

Another big road resurfacing project is expected to get underway in Shreveport this week. Wednesday, April 2nd, the improvement project is expected to begin on East 70th St. from Fern Ave. to Line Ave.

The project, which began in April 2013, will widen and resurface the eastbound and westbound lanes and construct a center turn lane. The existing roadway from Creswell to Line will also be resurfaced.

The widening portion of the project is essentially complete. The contractor has been working on constructing the tie-ins at the city streets, installing new traffic lights, sidewalks and driveways.

This phase is expected to take about two weeks to complete.

Louisiana DOTD asks that you keep in mind that work such as asphalt laying and roadway striping have weather restrictions.
