Downtown Shreveport's new 12-unit condominium project is entering the contstruction homestretch! On Fat Tuesday, the ribbon will be cut, signaling the official opening of the new $2-million project, called The Novena. Afterward, media members and Realtors from all over the region will be treated to the first Realtor Open House and Tour. The Novena is the newest in downtown living and another example of the adaptive re-use of historic downtown buildings. The building that formerly housed a telephone company was built in the 1940's...and has recently been the setting for a motion picture. It sits directly across from the Strand Theatre and is located in the new Shreveport Common Art & Culture District. The Downtown Shreveport Development Corporation provided a $10,000 facade grant for the project.
