Caddo Parish residents who have been impacted by recent flooding can get assistance in a one-stop-shop this week.

Northwest Louisiana Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) is setting up a Multi-Agency Resource Center three different days, and in two locations, this week.

It will operate Wednesday from 10AM-2PM at Southern University-Shreveport's Gymnasium. That's located at 3050 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. It'll be open again at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church at 1666 Alston Street Friday from 3-7PM and Saturday from 10AM-2PM.

According to a CSO news release, trained caseworkers from several non-profit organizations will be onhand to help evaluate the immediate recovery needs of flood victims and help residents navigate paperwork and locate assistance for their specific disaster-caused needs -- like food, clothing and cleaning supplies.

Here are some participating organizations: American Red Cross, Caddo Parish School Board Homeless Program, Catholic Charities, Community Resource Management, Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana, Goodwill Industries, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Louisiana Baptist Disaster Relief, the Mormon Helping Hands, and the United Methodist Disaster Response Team.

Individuals and families applying for government assistance are required to bring identification showing an address and proof of residence to be eligible for assistance from some agencies.
