With a special election approaching for District 5 voters in northern and central parts, some Louisiana Republicans are calling for Duck Commander CEO and 'Duck Dynasty' star Willie Robertson to run for the seat.

The Duck Dynasty show on A&E tells the story of the Robertsons, who went from having nothing to building a duck-calling empire.  The show also displays their conservative values and outdoor life.

But now, the Washington Examiner is reporting that some members of the Louisiana Republican Party want Robertson to run for the congressional seat Rodney Alexander is vacating.

And according to the article, there are even some Republicans outside of Louisiana who want Robertson to run.

Will it happen?

Don't count on it.  Republican officials will have a hard time getting Robertson to run, largely because of the work he is doing now with his company and his show.  That, plus Robertson has never openly expressed interest in politics.

But University of Louisiana at Monroe Political Science Professor Joshua Stockley says this is mostly a federal Republican pipe dream.  He adds the party is looking for more star power.

What do you think?
