October 15th is Pregnancy, Infant and Child Loss Awareness Day. The tradition is to light a candle in memory of a child lost to miscarriage, stillbirth, SIDS, SUDC or any other childhood illness or injury. It's a day to let our friends and loved ones know that we remember their child; it's a day to share photos of our burning candle and let our friends and loved ones know that we have a child that we can't hold in our arms.

David's Gift, a local non-profit organization that helps grieving parents by providing them with funding for their children's funerals, is hosting a glow run at the Stoner Boat Launch.

According to their press release:

David's Gift is observing Pregnancy, Infant and Child Loss Awareness Day this year with a Remembrance Glow Run on October 15, 2015 at the Stoner Boat Launch at 7pm. We'll be wearing our glow in the dark t-shirts and glow necklaces to light up the Shreveport river front pathway in memory of a special infant or child gone too soon.

Participants can register to run/walk as part of a team and help raise money for David's Gift. Medals will be given for the team that raises the most money per person, as well as Overall Male & Female finishers and overall age group finishers in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. All race proceeds will benefit David's Gift.
