A Minden man who jumped into the Red River to evade police capture in 2011 is looking at a lengthy prison sentence. Bobby Charles Byrd was found guilty by a Caddo Parish jury of aggravated flight from an officer, and District Attorney's prosecutors plan to seek multiple offender status. That could put Byrd in prison for life. He was found guilty of leading Shreveport police on a high-speed chase through the city and into Bossier City in July 2011. He abandoned his vehicle and jumped into the river, but was pulled from the river with the help of a K-9 unit and arrested. He'll be back in court January 28th.
