Bossier City native Blayne Weaver has written, directed, and stars in a film that will make its world premier at the Strand Theatre in downtown Shreveport. The movie was filmed and is set here, and was made using local talent and film crew, along with a few big Hollywood names!

And this movie premier will be a star studded event, much like the ones in Los Angeles, and will even include a glamorous red carpet event.

“We are really happy to announce the stars, both from the area and from Los Angeles that will be walking the Strand Theatre’s red carpet on August 4,” says writer/director Blayne Weaver (6 Month Rule).

“This film is just one feather in the cap of Shreveport’s independent film movement. Film is far from dead in our city. It’s fought back from the brink and is moving back to the forefront,” said Chris Lyon, a producer on the film. “It is why Blayne, Mindy, and I think it’s so important to make this premiere as big and as fun as the community in which we made it, so we can all celebrate local art and business together.”

Cut to the Chase will premiere at a one-night-only red carpet event on Thursday, August 4th at the Strand Theatre in downtown Shreveport. The film will start at 7pm following the red carpet festivities at 6pm. The film screening will be followed by a special Q&A with the filmmakers, cast, and crew hosted by Heliopolis contributor Jaya McSharma.

Tickets are on sale now at the Strand Theatre box office and online at www.thestrandtheatre.com.
