It was a tight game in all 9 innings of play between the Texas Rangers and Boston Red Sox, but somebody had to win it!

By the way there was a surprise visitor at this game.

Lack of consistency is a good term to describe Red Sox star Josh Beckett’s season, the same can’t be said for Rangers starting pitcher Matt Harrison (13-6, 3.17 ERA). He’s having the season of his life!

But with the way this game was going at first, you’d figure at least one of them would be credited with the”W”, and not one of the relief pitchers.

Here’s how everything looked offensively in this game:

Top of the 1st inning: Josh Hamilton hits a “three-bagger” to deep center, allowing Ian Kinsler and Elvis Andrus to score. Adrian Beltre wanted to make sure Josh Hamilton had a safe ride home, so he hit a sac fly to Red Sox OF Carl Crawford. Score: 3-0

Bottom of the 1st inning: Adrian Gonzalez doubles to right, scoring Dustin Pedroia. Cody Ross assures Adrian Gonzalez he’ll have a safe ride home, singling to the infield. Score: 3-2

Bottom of the 3rd inning: Cody Ross hits a longball to deep left, tying the game. Score: 3-3

Top of the 5th inning: Rangers’ Mitch Moreland hits a bomb to center, followed by Hamilton bomb of his own. Score: 5-3

Bottom of the 5th: Adrian Gonzalez doubles to right, sending Carl Crawford home. Adrian Gonzalez scores via a passed ball by the catcher, tying the game once again! Score: 5-5

Top of the 6th inning: New acquisition Rangers’ catcher Geovany Soto, hits a two run homer to deep center! Score: 7-5

Top of the 7th inning: Nelson Cruz possibly a little envious of the new guy hitting a homer, blasts one out for himself, extending the lead! Score: 8-5

Bottom of the 7th inning: Adrian Gonzalez doubles to right, allowing Dustin Pedroia to cross home plate. The rookie Will Middlebrooks having ice water run through his veins, hits a clutch three run homer to left! This ties the game…again! Score: 9-9

Top of the 9th inning: Adrian Beltre hits a sac fly to Sox OF Jacoby Ellsbury, allowing Elvis Andrus to score! Score: 10-9

Following another save by closer Joe Nathan, his 22nd of the year, the Rangers win 10-9!
