Louisiana Film Prize Festival kicks off this Thursday and runs through October 12. Here's a closer look at one of the Top 20 films, "True Heroes."
"True Heroes" is an action film directed by Chris Ganucheau. We asked Chris a few questions about his short film.
What is your film about?
Escape
What kind of message are you trying to get across in your film?
Relationships are worth more than possessions and your own ambitions.
Where in Northwest Louisiana did you film?
We shot in a private nature refuge east of the city. Since it's private property, no one can surprise you with a court subpoena. You never know when jury duty may strike.
What were your impressions about Northwest Louisiana, specifically the

Shreveport-Bossier area?
I want to do nothing more than shoot Heat 2 right in the middle of the city. Best gun battle in a film.
Would you film in this area again?
Of course! Maybe they will let me shoot Heat 2!
$50,000 is on the line! What do you plan on doing with the money if you win?
Turning it into 5 Million pennies and live the American dream through the childhood inspiration of Scrooge McDuck from DuckTales by jumping off a diving board into a literal pool of money. Or 14,265 gallons of Mr Pib. Seriously, though, I could make ten more local short films to pitch as pilots.
Why should someone vote for your film?
We could swim in the pool. Who could resist? They could star in one of the many upcoming films.  No votes, no films.
Additional thoughts:
Fighter jets, tanks, monkey knife fight, large menacing robots, samurai swords, explosions, fog of war, car chase, corruption, babies, clowns, funny insurance commercial, bring home eggs, milk, bread, two knives, two monkeys.
