Shreveport police detectives have charged a south Louisiana man in connection with a purse-snatching in downtown Shreveport last night. It happened just before 10 in the 200 block of Crockett Street. A woman told officers that a man had snatched her purse from her shoulder and took off on foot. She was able to give them a detailed description, and patrolmen located the man a short time later in the 700 block of Edwards Street. After a brief foot chase, they took 20-year-old Mathier Christophe of Plaquemine into custody and charged him with one count of purse-snatching and one count of resisting an officer. The woman’s purse was returned to her.
