Another distinction for The Port of Shrevepor-Bossier.  The newest facility at the port complex, the Regional Commerce Center, has been awarded LEED Gold status by the US Green Building Council.  LEED is an acronym that stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.  Port officials say the building was designed to be "green" -- not only to save energy but also to attract other "green" industries.  A Gold ranking is the second-highest on the LEED scale.
