One man is recovering in a local hospital after being shot in the chest, and investigators are trying to locate the shooter.

Shortly after 10:30 PM Monday night, Shreveport Police were called to a home located in the 3000 block of Hillcrest Avenue on a call that a man had been shot there. The man, identified as 19-year-old Anthony Johnson of Shreveport, was located and found to be suffering a gunshot wound to the chest. Johnson was transported by the Shreveport Fire Department to University Health hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Based on information gathered upon at the scene, investigators believe that Johnson was present at the Hillcrest Avenue residence, when a man known to him arrived there and engaged in a verbal argument. The argument apparently escalated, and the man reportedly produced a firearm and shot Johnson. The man then drove away in what is thought to be a red sports car, possibly a Ford Mustang.

Authorities are asking persons with any information about crime to contact Crimestoppers at (318) 673-7373 or visit their website at www.lockemup.org.
