What Color Would You Like the Jimmie Davis Bridge to Be?

As the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development prepares to take bids on the upcoming Jimmie Davis Bridge project, it offers residents the chance of a lifetime -- picking the paint.

You get to vote on your favorite paint color via DOTD's website or the "Pick the Paint" Facebook page. Voting opened up today, March 7, 2014, and continues through May 2. Color choices are blue, purple, brown, green, gold, grey, orange or red.

Bids for the rehab project will be taken this coming October. It's etimated to cost between $15- and $20-million. The project will involve re-decking, structural repairs, lighting installation and painting.
