PETA names Philadelphia Most Vegetarian-Friendly City for Sports Fans award.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals hands out the honor for the first time ever. The Superdome in New Orleans did not make the list. PETA calls Lincoln Financial Field where the Eagles play as the most vegetarian-friendly in the NFL. Vegetarian and vegan options at the Linc include: a faux steak sandwich, veggie dogs, veggie chicken steak sandwich, veggie wrap, veggie tacos and more. This is a little ironic because the Philly cheese steak is one of the top sellers at the stadium. But PETA Associate Director Ryan Huling said Lincoln Financial Field has the finest meat-free options at the concession stands. “Any discerning Eagles fan knows that the vegan and vegetarian food at the Linc is in a league of its own.” Fans in the suites can order rotini pasta salad and roasted garlic hummus and pita chips.

Rounding out this year’s winners are:

2. Kansas City Chiefs’ Arrowhead Stadium

3. Oakland Raiders’ Coliseum

4. Detroit Lions’ Ford Field

5.  San Diego Chargers’ Qualcomm Stadium

Receiving honorable mentions are the homes of the Denver Broncos, Jacksonville Jaguars, Seattle Seahawks, Minnesota Vikings, and Arizona Cardinals.
