The number of passengers using  Shreveport Regional Airport for their air travel needs has increased for the ninth consecutive month, beginning in November of 2013.

During the first seven months of 2014, a total of 366,082 passengers have flown in and out of SHV. That is an increase of 29,668 passengers year-over-year, up nearly 9%.

"The numbers speak to an increasing demand for air travel to and from the Ark-La-Tex Region via Shreveport Regional Airport," said Bryant L. Francis, Director of Airports for the Shreveport Airport Authority.  "We believe this impressive surge in passenger traffic indicates a strengthening local economy.  The hope is that it continues so that more targeted discussion about higher passenger usage can be included in upcoming airline meetings, with a goal of increasing seat capacity and nonstop destinations in 2015.  We must keep this key regional economic engine in growth mode," he said.
