t's a sad day for the Parkway Panther football program.

The school loses an appeal before the LHSAA Executive Committee.

The hearing lasted around two hours, but the panel voted against Parkway after hearing the case. The Panthers were found to be in violation of the Change of Residence rule.. Head football coach David Feaster said, the situation involved a freshman backup quarterback who played on the varsity team this season after moving from another district.

Feaster said, “We're amazed, we're disappointed and we're shocked, there's no other way to explain it. We're disappointed.”
The penalties facing the team include forfeiting five games, administrative probation for one year, a fine of  $400.

The student shall be ineligible until he has attended Parkway High School for one calendar year. Additionally, when he becomes eligible he must sit out the same number of contests he participated in as an ineligible player, which is a scrimmage, a jamboree and 5 varsity football contest.

The Parkway administration is required to have the head coach attend the next LHSAA Handbook Certification class or enroll, complete and pass the LHSAA/NFHS Online Fundamentals of Coaching.

The Panthers' record this season now changes to 2-7 from 7-2.

Parkway takes on Airline Friday night.
