Over 20 Fire Fighting Units Report To A Fire In West Shreveport

Over 20 fire fighting units from the Caddo Parish Fire Districts, and assisting agencies, are battling a blaze on Julie Frances Drive in Shreveport, just off Bert Kouns this afternoon.

Reports are coming out that the blaze is at a chemical plant, AFCO. It appears to be contained to just that facility at this time, with no other businesses currently at risk.

So far there have been no reports of injuries during the fire.

From video that KEEL has obtained, which is included above, you can see the large smoke cloud rising, which has been reported all across West Shreveport. With many community members now worried about what kind of chemicals may be burning.

Authorities have had to restrict traffic in the area.
