UPDATE: 12:20PM 1/8/15: Power has been restored at Caddo Heights Elementary following the replacement of a transformer near the school by AEP SWEPCO.

Caddo Heights students, who were transported to South Highlands Elementary for the duration of the repair, will be transported to back to Caddo Heights after lunch.

Original story:

Two Caddo Parish schools are experiencing disruptions today due to outages.

The Ombudsman West program is without water, so Superintendent Lamar Goree decided to close that campus for the day and send students back home.

And Caddo Heights Elementary is without power while SWEPCO crews work to replace a nearby transformer. It's going to take longer than anticipated, so students have been transported to South Highlands Elementary Magnet, where they'll remain until power is restored. That decision was made because Caddo Heights is a neighborhood school, so power is also out at the students' homes.

We'll let you know when we receive word from Caddo Schools that everything's back to normal at Caddo Heights.
