Before today the lowest recorded attendance at a Major League Baseball game was six. That goes all the way back to an 1882 game between the Troy Trojans and the Worcester Ruby Legs. But that record has fallen, topped today by the Baltimore Orioles and Chicago White Sox, who beat the 133 year old mark by, well, six. That's right, today's official attendance at Baltimore's Camden Yards was zero.

The game between the Orioles and White Sox, originally scheduled for Wednesday night, was moved up to Wednesday afternoon by an agreement between Major League Baseball and the City of Baltimore. And in the wake of back-to-back nights of rioting in the area, concern for fan safety was so great that the decision was made to play the game in an empty stadium.

In the game, Baltimore's Chris Davis hit a three run home run and the Os beat Chicago 8-2.

The first two games of the series (Monday and Tuesday) were postponed due to the rioting, looting and burning near the stadium.
