[OP-ED] Why Obama’s Statement, ‘If You Like Your Plan, You Can Keep Your Plan’ is Not Completely True
It appears that the American people have begun to see the truth now that Obamacare, AKA The Affordable Care Act was launched on Oct. 1. You can try making your way around on the Healthcare.gov website, but it's a well-known fact that you won't have much luck because of all the problems with it. And what about those promises that President Barack Obama made to the American people?
Obama promised Americans they could keep their plan and doctor.
In the video above, President Obama promised that Americans could keep their current plan and doctor. He said:
And that means no matter how we change health care; we will keep this promise to the American people. If you like your doctor you will be able to keep your doctor period. If you like your health care plan you will be able to keep your health care plan period. No one will take it away no matter what.
But the president's words have turned out to be false and people have already lost the health care they had.
Fox News reported on Monday they have confirmed that the White House knew that over 10 million people would lose their current doctor under Obamacare as early as 2010.
Megyn Kelly reported on her show “The Kelly File” that an IRS regulation had already estimated that millions of Americans would not be able to keep their health insurance plan under the Affordable Care Act back in 2010.
Kelly's guest, Marc Thiessen said: "the administration needs these Americans to move into the Obamacare exchanges to subsidize the law for those who cannot afford health insurance."
“What the unanticipated consequence of this they’re pushing all these millions of people out of the health care that they liked into Obamacare, except the people can’t get into Obamacare,” he said.
NBC News is reporting that that 50 to 75 percent of the 14 million consumers who buy their insurance individually can expect to receive a “cancellation” letter or the equivalent.
