One Person Dies in North Market Street Wreck
A morning wreck leaves one man dead. Just before 9 o’clock, the Shreveport Fire Department was called to an accident involving an 18-wheeler and a pick-up truck at the intersection of North Market and I-220. The pick-up truck’s driver was pronounced dead at the scene by the Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office. His name is being withheld pending notification of family. According to a preliminary investigation, the 18-wheeler was southbound on North Market and turning east onto I-220 when the pick-up truck, which was northbound on North Market, ran a red light and hit the big rig. The driver of the 18-wheeler had no reported injuries, but was taken to Willis Knighton North for observation. Shreveport police are investigating the crash.
