The three police officers killed in an ambush in Baton Rouge have been identified. They Baton Rouge Police officers are 41-year-old Matthew Gerald of Denham Springs, and 32-year-old Montrell Jackson, of Baton Rouge. Also killed was East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Deputy 45-year-old East Brad Garafola.

Three other officers were wounded. One is in critical condition.
The suspect 29-year-old Gavin Eugene Long of Kansas City, Mo., was killed in a gunfight with police.
A man with a gun opened fire on police officers in Baton Rouge wounding six officers. It all started when police got a call of "suspicious person walking down Airline Highway with an assault rifle." When police arrived, the man opened fire.

Marquis Gibson, an eyewitness, was at the Hammond Aire Plaza mall when he heard shots and ran inside. "Officers were falling down and hiding," he told NBC News.
