NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University’s Department of Choral and Vocal Studies will present an exhibition recital Saturday, Oct. 1 at 2:30 p.m. in Magale Recital Hall. Admission is free and open to the public.

The recital is in honor of the All Honors Choir participants who will be on the Northwestern State campus Saturday. The All Honors Choir will perform with the All Honors Band, Color Guard, Drum Line and the Spirit of Northwestern Marching Band on a patriotic salute at halftime of the football game against McNeese State. The game kicks off at 6 p.m.

Twelve student soloists from the vocal studio of Northwestern State faculty Dr. Christopher Gilliam, MichaelRorex and Terrie Sanders will perform during the recital.

Student soloists are Geneva McAuliffe of Houston, James Green of Natchitoches, Kallie Stephenson and Claire Givens of West Monroe Malcolm Smoot of Cottonport and Tyler Herrington of Pineville. Other student soloists are Hannah Williams, Courtney Wilson and Hannah Street of Baton Rouge, Garrett Watson of Cleburne, Texas, Aaron McConnell of Alexandria and Ryan Breaux of Lafayette.

The Northwestern Concert Choir directed by Gilliam and Northwestern Chamber Choir directed by Dr. Burt Allen will also perform. Dr. Greg Handel and Jordan DeRouen will accompany the Concert Choir. Dr. Christine Burczyk Allen is accompanist for the Chamber Choir.
