Police detectives are searching for a suspect who robbed a man at gunpoint this morning in north Shreveport.

At approximately 10:45 a.m. on September 26, 2011, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a reported armed robbery of an individual at a gas station in the 3100 block of North Market Street.  Upon arrival, patrolmen contacted an adult male who reported to them that as he was walking back to his vehicle in the parking lot there with his laptop computer in hand, a male suspect approached him and produced a handgun.  The would-be bandit demanded the computer and, after the victim complied, fled the scene of the crime on foot with the stolen loot.  The victim was not injured.

Responding patrolmen, robbery detectives and two K-9 units converged on the area around the crime scene in an effort to apprehend the robber and were ultimately able to locate the stolen lap top on top of a shed just north of the gas station. Authorities also located a white button down shirt they believe the suspect took off in his attempts to evade capture. The suspect is described as a black male approximately five feet nine to five feet ten inches tall with an average build and a short hair cut.  He was last seen wearing the recovered white shirt as well as black pants and what have been described as black dress shoes.

Anyone who has any information regarding this robbery is urged to call Shreveport Police Detective Jack Miller at 318-673-6955 or Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.
