NJ Mayor Ratchets Up Allegation Against Christie
The Democratic mayor of Hoboken has ratcheted up her allegation that Republican Gov. Christie’s administration tied Superstorm Sandy recovery funds to her support for a prime real estate project.
A spokesman for Christie says that Mayor Dawn Zimmer’s claim Sunday that Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno told her that an ultimatum tying recovery funds to the development project came from Christie himself is “categorically false.”
Zimmer made the claim on CNN’s “State of the Union with Candy Crowley.” She alleged without mentioning Christie on Saturday that Guadagno and a top community development official gave her the ultimatum.
Zimmer also says she turned over documents to a federal prosecutor investigating the Christie administration for its role in engineering traffic jams on the George Washington Bridge, possibly as payback against the town’s Democratic mayor.
