New Phone Scam Widely Reported in the Ark-La-Tex

Authorities in Texarkana are warning area residents of a new telephone scam. Cops say the caller claims to be collecting for a police charity, trying to convince potential victims that their donation will benefit local police department.

Texarkana Police reiterate to the public that they never solicit money in this manner and would never ask anyone to do it on their behalf. The question is, If these scammers are working the Texarkana area now, how long until these callers call your number?
