New Orleans Police: Suspect Shot by Officer Dies

Police in New Orleans say one of their officers has shot a suspect who died at the scene of the shooting.

Police reported the shooting around 9:30 a.m. Saturday and announced a half hour later that the suspect died at the scene.

The shooting happened in the Lower 9th Ward neighborhood. No other injuries were reported. The identity of the suspect was not immediately available.

The circumstances of the shooting were unclear.
